A PIECE OF LEGISLATION MAY BE ADDED TO THIS DOCKET BY A MAJORITY VOTE OF THE LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE. ALL BILLS AND RESOLUTIONS LISTED WITHIN THIS DOCKET HAVE BEEN CERTIFIED CORRECT AND PROPER BY THE CHAIRMAN AS OF AUGUST 31, 2006. COPIES OF EACH SUBMITTED BILL OR RESOLUTION MAY BE OBTAINED BY CONTACTING THE CHAIRMAN OR BY SEEING THE LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE RECORDS IN THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT OFFICES. SENATORS AND STUDENT BODY MEMBERS MAY REQUEST TO BE ADDED AS A CO-SPONSOR ON ANY PIECE OF LEGISLATION BY SPEAKING TO THE LEGISLATION'S MAIN SPONSOR, AS NOTED IN THE "( )" MARKS.

SUBMISSION OF LEGISLATION
As approved by the Legislative Committee, August 22, 2006

All legislation to be heard by the Student Senate must be submitted in a timely manner and by the monthly deadlines in order to be placed on each month's Legislative Docket.

Furthermore, all submitted legislation must be submitted using the Legislative Format Template. Submission by email is encouraged, although not necessary. If submitted in physical form, legislation sponsors are requested to submit an electronic copy of the legislation within two days of the monthly submission deadline.

Schedule of Legislative Submission Dates:
To be heard in September: August 29, 2006 by 11:59pm
To be heard in October: September 26, 2006 by 11:59pm
To be heard in November: October 24, 2006 by 11:59pm
To be heard in January: January 9, 2007 by 11:59pm
To be heard in February: January 30, 2007 by 11:59pm
To be heard in March: February 27, 2007 by 11:59pm
To be heard in April: March 27, 2007 by 11:59pm

One 24 hour grace period will be extended for those individuals who fail to submit legislation by the monthly submission deadlines. If failing to adhere to the monthly submission deadline a second time, no grace period will be allowed and the legislation must be submitted for the next month's Legislative Docket.

A piece of legislation may be entered into the Monthly Legislative Docket, if having missed the submission deadline, by a simple majority vote of the Committee.

Legislation sponsored by the Office of the President, Vice President or Attorney General will be entitled to a permanent 24-hour grace period after submission deadline dates.
